Project Objectives
- This project involves the evaluation and identification of meat cuts from beef, swine, and sheep species.
Competitions
- Contests are based on the skills of meat evaluation, retail cut identification, oral reasons, and questions.
Each participant is expected to defend their rankings to a panel of judges.
This contest is held at the District level and at Texas 4‐H Roundup. - Livestock shows such as the San Antonio Livestock Exposition and Houston Livestock Show also offer a
Meats Judging contest.
